Bangle vs. Chain vs. Tennis Bracelets
Bangles are rigid and sized to slip over the hand, which makes them easy to throw on, but does mean that sizing depends on your hand size as well. Chain bracelets are flexible and usually fasten with a lobster clasp, giving you more sizing flexibility and a more secure fit for active wear. Tennis bracelets are made of a chain of closely-set diamonds and use a box clasp.
How to Measure Your Wrist for Your Bracelet Size
Wrap a flexible tape measure or a strip of paper around your wrist just above the wrist bone where you'd naturally wear a bracelet, then note the measurement. For a snug fit, add half an inch to your wrist measurement. For a comfortable everyday fit with a little drape, add three-quarters of an inch to one full inch. If you're buying as a gift and you're guessing, seven inches is the most common bracelet size, and a reasonable starting point for most adults.
